DR. OLATUNJI AGBOOLA OLATEJU Dr. Olatunji A. Olateju is a Chief Lecturer in the Department of General Studies of the Polytechnic. He obtained Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Sociology, from the University of Lagos in 1985, Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sociology from the same University in 1987, Master of Art (MA) in Democratic Studies from the University of Leeds in 2007, United Kingdom and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Politics from Swansea University, United Kingdom in 2013. Dr. Olateju has attended many local and international conferences on Political Economy, Culture and Politics, Leadership and Democracy, Youth Empowerment, Globalization and Economic Development. He has many publications to his credit among which are Neo Communitarianism and Speconomy as Alternative Path to Economic Development, Political and Economic Dimensions in National Development, The Truth of Economy and Political Disorders in Africa and Steps for Rectification etc. Dr. Olateju was a Honorary Research Fellow of Swansea University, UK from September, 2013 – September, 2016. He is currently the Deputy Rector (Administration) Lagos State Polytechnic from where he commenced his teaching career in 1998. His research areas include Economic Development, Youth and Gender Empowerment, Democracy and Governance.

Mr. Samuel O. Sogunro


Mr. Samuel Oluyinka Sogunro was born on 17th March, 1961 to the late Cedric Akanbi Sogunro and late Mrs. Christiana A. Sogunro (Nee Fabunmi) of the Bakare lineage of the sogunro chieftaincy family in Lagos Island Local Government of Lagos State. He obtained Master of Science (Msc.) Statistics from the University of Lagos Akoka in 1995. He attended the University of Lagos, Akoka where he graduated with a B.Sc (Ed) Honours in Mathematics in 1987. He had his primary and secondary education in Lagos State. He is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Fellow, Royal Statistical Society, United Kingdom (RSS), Fellow, The Institute of Classical Entrepreneurship, Nigeria (ICEN), Member, Nigeria Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN), to mention but a few. Sogunro started his working career with the Lagos State Polytechnic on the 8th January, 1990 as a lecturer III on Grade Level 09 step 01 and the appointment was confirmed on 8th January, 1992. He rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Lecturer in 2010. He has held various academic and administrative positions in the polytechnic. He became the first Deputy Rector (Administration) of the Polytechnic on Friday 26th April, 2013. Sogunro through dint of hardwork became the 10th Rector of the Polytechnic on 1st of June, 2015. He is also a member of the 11th Governing Council.

Mr. Shakirudeen A. Bello

Bello, Shakirudeen Adetona was born on 29th March, 1963 into the Obateru Royal Family of Egbin and Rademo Ruling House of Ikorodu, Lagos State. He attended Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode between 1977 and 1982 from where he proceeded to Anwar Islam College, Agege, between 1983 and 1985 for Higher School Certificate programmer (HSC). He obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Education) Honours from the Lagos State University, Ojo in 1990. He returned to the same Institution for a postgraduate course in Public Administration (MPA) and graduated in 2001. He joined the services of Lagos State Polytechnic at the lowest ebb on 15th March, 1993 as an Administrative Officer II in October, 1997, form where he rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy registrar in August, 2010. As Deputy Registrar, Mr. Bello served in Managerial capacity in the various units of Registry and also held various academic and administrative positions. Mr. Shakirudeen A. Bello is a Fellow of the Institue of Personnel Management (IPM) and also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (CAI) as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Professional Managers International (CPN). He was conferred with the African Achievers of the Commonwealth Award on 29th June, 2018. Mr. Bello also co-authored a book titled “Public Administration System in Nigeria”. Mr. Bello became the Registrar of the Lagos State Polytechnic on 9th February, 2018. Before his appointment as the Registrar, he was the Deputy Registrar in charge of Examinations and Records in the Polytechnic.

Mr. Maumo J Jinadu

SHORT PROFILE OF POLYTECHNIC’S BURSAR MR. MAUMO JERRY JINADU Mr. Maumo Jerry Jinadu was born at Badagry on the 8th day of February, 1967. He attended Iworo Ajido High School, Badagry between 1979 and 1984. He later proceeded to Lagos State University, Ojo to pursue a career in Economics Education in 1995 and bagged his B.Sc Ed. Economics (Second Class Upper Division) in the year 1998. In quest for more knowledge, he was admitted into Lagos State University, Ojo to run his M.Sc Economics in year 2003 and was awarded his certificate in year 2005. In year 2008, he got his MBA in Financial Management from the same Institution. He later acquired his B.Sc Accounting (Second Class Upper Division) in year 2014 from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State. Mr. Maumo Jerry Jinadu is a Chartered Accountant, a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Fellow, Chartered Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria, Associate Member, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (CPA), Associate Member, Institute of Cost Management, Nigeria, and Associate Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered). Before his appointment as the Bursar, Lagos State Polytechnic with effect from August 1, 2017, he joined the services of Lagos State University, Ojo in 1988 as a Secretariat Staff, and was later appointed as Executive Officer Accounts in the Bursary Department in 1992 and rose to the position of Deputy Bursar in 2016. He was also a Resource Person with the Department of Accounting, Lagos State University, External System at Lekki, Anthony, Festac, Jibowu and Ikoyi Campuses between year 2007 and 2016. He has also been honoured with numerous awards amongst which are; Dedication and commitment Award by National Association of Badagry Students (NABAS) LASU Chapter, Distinguish Badagrian Award by National Association of Badagry Students (NABAS) LASU Chapter, Exceptional Leadership Quality and Integrity Award by Nigerian Universities Accounting Students Association (NUASA), LASU, Lekki Chapter, Outstanding Administrator of the year and Badagry Integrity Award by Badagry Parrot Newspaper and Badagry Elite Forum. His area of professional calling and research interest includes projects and research works done in his Bachelors and Masters degree.
