Pro. Tajudeen G.O Gbadamosi
Prof. Tajudeen G.O Gbadamosi was born on 15th June, 1939 He had his secondary education in Ondo and Lagos State from 1952-1958. He attended the University College Ibadan (A college of University of London) between 1952 and 1956, University of Ibadan 1962-1965 and also University of Khartoum, Sudan in 1965. Prof. Gbadamosi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in History from the University of Ibadan in 1969 and B.A (Hons. History) London with Second Class Upper Division in July 1962, He has a certificate in Arabic awarded by the Lebanese Government in 1964. Prof. Gbadamosi had taught in many Universities: they include University of Ibadan, University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) London as visiting Scholar, King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia as visiting Ass0ciate Professor of History, University of Lagos and also Fulbright-Scholar in Residence; LeMoyne-Owen College, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Prof. Gbadamosi has taught African History and intellectual history programmes at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels, most notably: History of Islamic Socio-Political Thought, Theories and Concepts of History (African History), African Historiography, Afro-Islamic Civilization I & II , Nigerian History and Islamic Political Thought. He is a member of various professional bodies such as Counseling Association of Nigeria, Nigeria-Arab Association, African Studies Association of America Studies, History Society of Nigeria and Nigerian Academy of Letters. Prof. Tajudeen had been honored with different Awards: Long Service Award, University of Lagos, Merit Award, Jama-at-ul Islamiyya of Nigeria, Merit Award, Ansarud Deen Society of Nigeria, Chieftaincy title, Otunba Adesowo Baba Oba of Ilara epe, Award as a Pillar of support of Younis Olatunji Basorun Education Foundation (YOBEF), Award of Ilmu Schools and Ambassador of Goodwill, State of Arkansas, Little Rock USA. Prof. Tajudeen had published various publications which include poems, books, articles and chapters. Prof. Tajudeen through his hard work, he became the 11th Governing Council Chairman of the Polytechnic on 22nd September, 2015. He is married with Children.
